Betrayal

A wolf, came up my avenue,
dressed with a face, I thought, I knew!
I threw her morsels, that she chewed
and then, she sauntered off, subdued!

She searched all night, to find my crew!
The gnawed, distorted morsels spewed!
They licked them up, like tasty food!
Their manner changed, as contempt brewed!

When next, I saw them, they were rude!
They acted like, we had a feud!
I wondered, how things got so skewed,
so, I excused their vicious mood!

Yet, their resentment only grew!
I didn't know, just what to do!
A broken puzzle, to pursue...
but no one, honest, had a clue!

Beware the wolf, that comes to you,
with heart of vengeance, not virtue,
manipulating, what is true,
leading others, to act out too!
