A Prayer For That Woman, A Prayer for Myself
There was a woman,
crying out...
grieving!
I was standing so close,
I could feel her pain!
My heart whispered out
a prayer for her,
"God, hold her, in your arms!"
Yet, I was too weak,
to say a thing!
I wanted to tell her,
I knew her emotions!
I wanted to tell her,
I've been that broken!
I wanted to say something,
that brought hope and comfort...
but when her eyes met mine,
I looked away!
Forgive me,
when my silence
looks like apathy!
Forgive me,
when my tongue is still
but I should speak!
Forgive me,
when my thoughts
are guided by your truth,
yet, I look aloof!
I know, I looked aloof!
Help someone do,
what I couldn't do!
Surround her with love
and carry her through!
And if she doesn't know you,
let someone bring your light!
Help her, to accept you,
this very night!
Strengthen me!
I want to be the bearer,
of good seeds!
I want to touch hearts,
with good deeds!
I want to show
the kind of love,
I feel within me.
Give me the confidence,
to act,
not just think!
My tears today,
can't bring back,
that moment of yesterday,
when I should have reached out
and offered a stranger,
grace!
Remind me of this,
if I'm ever,
put in that same place!
Help me to speak up,
and not be afraid!
