Dyed Thread
She's a stranger...but even so,
at her...you look down your nose!
She's in danger! "Well, that's her choice!"
Your judgements, steal away her voice!
See her face? That's just her skin!
You can't see, what she holds within!
All the lies, that she was told!
All you see, is what she sold!
But to look at the act, without caring why,
is to look at a thread...and not see the dye!
Before it was her choice, they stole it!
Before she had a voice, they controlled it!
When she was innocent...
they ripped her up!
They indulged in her beauty,
filling their own cup!
And the shame that she carried,
was so overwhelming,
all she wanted, was to bury it down...
and deny that she ever was bound!
As blood flows, to every part of the body,
it got stirred up in her soul!
As watering earth, causes seeds to grow,
she implanted the lie, that she had control!
How the mind, can warp,
when you're just surviving!
How the heart, builds towers,
to shield and mold!
How deceit, can twinkle,
like the lights, on a stage...
and the act comes easy,
with your conscience, betrayed.
Drugs made her feel powerful!
Took away, all the pain!
She felt light, as a feather.
The downs, were the chain.
She bandaged the lows,
with manufactured highs.
Truth, was a bullet,
so, she wore, a disguise!
That road, led her to places,
that would scare the average joe!
The immersion of substance,
taking it's toll.
She got enslaved to a life,
of crime and abuse!
An ongoing cycle of,
'Don't feel...and just do!'
She accepted violation,
because that's all, she ever knew!
She never knew, what love was.
To her, love - meant being used!
But...she's not a robot!
There is something, we all know.
There's a void, inside us,
we can't cover...or let go!
Had she known, the love of Jesus,
would she have walked, down those roads?
If her dignity, had not been taken,
would she have chosen, what she chose?
So...if you can fathom...
that God washed...your sins away,
then believe, his blood, is thick enough,
to cover her shame!
For, what is grace...if we cannot
show it? What is love...if we
forgo it? Put it on hold, for
someone more deserving? No!
Jesus suffered, for the least of these!
He suffered, in tremendous agony!
Don't deny her, the right to be free!
He loved each one, personally!
